7 MARCH 2022

The Cremas Beach Challenge returned to the shores of Castelldefels with a raft of elite and aspiring women's teams looking to get a jump on the beach ultimate season. With no less than five national teams competing for top honors, all 12 teams found an opportunity to test themselves and their playbooks at the highest level.

A surprise to some who haven't been following the explosion of quality ultimate in Valencia, Cassalletes arrived to the final in dominant fashion, tallying a startling 50-point differential in five matches. On the other side of the draw, Denmark women arrived to the final after a hard-fought 11-9 victory over Spain women in the semis. An exciting final saw Cassalletes with an early lead but unable to hold off Denmark from equaling at 3-3. From there the game stayed tight until a final push from Denmark took the gold at 10-7. Spain women rounded out the podium defeating Denmark Masters 13-10 in the bronze medal game.

The host team Cremas improved on their previous results in the tournament by reaching the quarterfinals. After running headlong into the eventual winners, they finished strong against Neskalaris of Bilbao in a game highlighted by great spirit from both sides. Cremas came out on top with some big D's and clinical O leaving them poised for a promising next outing.
