Bravas showed their class and depth at regionals this weekend (coed, beach) with a strategic selection that landed two teams in the top division for the upcoming Spanish Nationals. This year's regionals took place in our home base of Castelldefels and featured a strong lineup of teams from both Catalonia and neighboring Aragon. The two Bravas Teams, Spunta and Universa, secured the coveted spots with 3rd and 5th place finishes, respectively. Bravas Spunta guaranteed themselves a place in the top four by burning up the field winning all their Staruday games. A tough Sunday morning loss to Barcelona rivals Peixets finished the first phase. They followed with 1 win and 1 loss in the crosses that determined the final classification. Bravas Universa took a more exciting route facing a must-win situation in their first cross to stay in contention for a ticket to the first division. The team not only stepped up and took care of business with a decisive victory but then put icing on the cake by taking a squeaker against the venerable Disterics to finish out their weekend.
